SPOTS AND SPONSORSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR AQHA'S PUMPHREY GOLF TOURNEY

July 23, 2010 - AQHA Racing still has available openings for golfers and sponsors of the 31st annual Jay Pumphrey Cowboy Classic Memorial Invitational golf tournament scheduled for August 31 and September 1 in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

The tournament was originally intended for those who worked professionally in American Quarter Horse racing, but is now used as a way to promote relationships in the industry and to encourage others to become involved in the sport. The tournament each year coincides with the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale and All American Futurity week at Ruidoso Downs.

Hole-in-one prizes this year include $10,000 from AQHA and a new Ford F-250 provided by Whiteface Ford in Hereford, Texas. Businesses or individuals wishing to sponsor a hole for $125 should contact AQHA Racing at racing@aqha.org or (806) 378-4362.

Men's and women's trophies will be awarded for single-day play; only those playing on both days will be eligible to win the tournament championship. The entry fee is $150 for single-day play or $275 for the entire tournament.
